Hi,US Dept of Energy Secretary, Steven Chu, plans to dump 14,000 tons of radioactive scrap metal into the marketplace for use in the manufacturing of consumer products, such as zippers, belt buckles, eyeglass frames, jewelry, watches, silverware, toys, pet bowls and leashes. This action is being fast-tracked, with little regard for public comment. The deadline is February 11, 2013. Source:
