SourceForge.net: GNU-Darwin Distribution: News

Project News for GNU-Darwin Distribution

  • GNU-Darwin: AbiWord!

The world-class word processing package, X11 AbiWord, is now
available for Darwin and OSX. Many thanks to the efforts of free
software developer, Francis James Franklin, and the AbiSource team
for this fine effort. Frank is also our newest GNU-Darwin developer,
and he has an AbiWord installer on his website, or you can try the
GNU-Darwin AbiWord package. In addition, we have provided up-to-date
utilities for converting your files from proprietary formats, such as
MS Word, and WMF, to free software formats such as PDF, EPS, and PNG.
Together with AbiWord and LaTeX, these utilities provide a powerfully
advanced authoring and desktop publishing environment.

  • GNU-Darwin: Dmitry INDICTED!

At this juncture we would like to remind Adobe Systems that
they must honor their agreement in good faith, or else the
    boycott will return.

  • GNU-Darwin: More Packages!

We have updated the GNU-Darwin General Release with more pre-beta

    samplings. These are among our most popular offerings, such as;

    GNU-Darwin Dillo, afterstep-1.8.9.tgz, Mesa-3.4.2_1.tgz,

QuakeForge-0.1.1.tgz, and libdnd-1.1.tgz. All of these packages

require Xdarwin-4.1, which has also been packaged for GNU-Darwin. Be

sure to read the updated package installation instructions to find out about all

of the recent additions. Finally, a reminder that all
of our packages are Mac OSX compatible; See XonX for details about
running X11 applications with Mac OSX.
