GNU-Darwin Action: Co-Sponsor the Faster FOIA Act of 2010

Dear Friend,

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) helps us hold our
officials accountable by requiring that federal agencies release
government information requested by the public. But with more
than 67,000 overdue FOIA requests still outstanding, we must do
more to ensure Americans' timely access to public information.

That is why Senator Patrick Leahy has co-authored legislation to
create a bipartisan commission tasked with streamlining FOIA's
administration and investigating the rising use of FOIA
exemptions to deny information requests. Please join me as a citizen co-sponsor of the Faster FOIA Act of
