This is a wonderful article, but I am afraid that the case is consistently understated. The cables demonstrate that the US is intentionally destabilizing South Asia and other places in order to sell weapons and establish political control. This control takes the form of propping up dictatorships and truncating civil liberties. Weapons merchants and security firms profit wildly.
